Responsibilities

Our Senior Software Engineers are a driving force behind the success of our projects. They leverage a strong object-oriented analysis and design background in order to build sophisticated web-based systems using Adobe Flex and Java technologies. As a Senior Software Engineer, your day-to-day responsibilities are focused on building rich Internet applications that will delight our customers. You engage in the full software development life cycle, including requirements gathering, designing, developing, testing, and mentoring both Redpoint and client developers using agile methodologies. You also interact frequently with clients on site and may manage projects for a small team of engineers.   

  • You will be collaborating with clients to identify and document product requirements.
  • You will be designing and developing application and framework code in Java, Flex and other programming languages.
  • You will be engaged in an agile development team using the Redpoint agile best practices.
  • You will be creating original and manipulating existing graphic design elements for client Web sites and interactive applications.

Qualifications

We're looking for software engineers with expertise in Java, Adobe Flex, AJAX, Hibernate and Spring.  A bachelor's degree in computer science is strongly preferred.  A strong knowledge of current web markup and scripting languages such as XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript, will help to ensure your success in this role.

We seek some knowledge of usability and information architecture theory and practice.  Ideally, you should have experience building web-based systems using Java/J2EE. You should also have a strong understanding of J2SE and J2EE APIs be able to design UI navigation, and create web-based user interfaces, and implement complex business logic.

Prior experience gathering and documenting system requirements, using software patterns and other proven design idioms, implementing reusable libraries and frameworks, using automated unit testing techniques and continuous integration experience is highly desired. You should be well versed in agile development methodologies such as RUP, XP, or SCRUM and the development of web-based, rich client, and server-side software. A successful track record of leading small-to-medium software development projects is desired.
