Responsibilities

Redpoint Software Engineers have the unique experience of working with premier clients while obtaining crucial software development skills. As a Software Engineer, you are often paired with a Senior Software Engineer or one of our Architects, providing the opportunity for collaboration with industry experts. Your day-to-day responsibilities are focused on writing .NET code to deliver applications that will delight our customers. You engage in the full software development life cycle including requirements gathering, designing, developing and testing software, and project documentation. You also interact with our clients on a routine basis. As you grow technically and professionally at Redpoint, you in turn will get the opportunity to mentor engineers and lead portions of the software development process.

Qualifications

We're looking for an experienced software engineer with 1-4+ years of experience developing web-based systems using ASP.NET, C#, and VB.NET. You should have a strong understanding of the .NET framework class library and Windows/Web Forms, be able to design UI navigation, create basic ASPX pages and implement business logic and database access. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering is strongly preferred.

You should be familiar with popular open source initiatives such as NUnit, Log4Net and Microsoft Application Blocks, agile development methodologies such as RUP, XP, or SCRUM, and development of web-based, rich client and server-side software. Prior experience gathering and documenting system requirements, using software patterns and other proven design idioms, and using automated unit testing techniques is highly desired.

Certainly not least, you should possess excellent speaking and writing skills, demonstrate a strong passion for learning, teaching, and using new technologies, and always be ready for your next big challenge!
